The SW5-07B is the ideal road camshaft; below 5500 rpm it produces more power than the 286 profile. On average you will spend 90 per cent of your road driving below 5500 rpm. The SW5-07B camshaft is machined from a steel blank, so there is no longer any need to send back your old camshaft! You benefit from a brand-new camshaft rather than a reprofiled one, offering better value for money. It features a surface treatment that provides improved wear resistance. Each lobe is drilled to deliver oil to the surface for permanent lubrication, unlike an original camshaft.
The SW5 cam has been a huge success with thousands sold yet development work will never stop. The latest Swiftune SW5-07B camshaft was developed using Lotus Engineering's latest valve train computer software to enhance the cam profile. Further gains in bhp and torque have come from using the latest CNC cam grinding technology to machine the SW5 cam to much closer tolerances which are so important for achieving the optimum dynamics of the cam profile. The same machine is grinding cams for WTC, WRC all the way to Formula 1!
